Over the years, they have grown apart only to be reunited in unexpected circumstances. Tenma moves in to the Sanctuary in hopes of becoming a Saint. There, he reunites with Sasha who he later discovers is the reincarnation of Goddess Athena. Over time, Tenma becomes a Saint of Pegasus who is destined to fight his best friend, Alone, who apparently is the reincarnation of King Hades.

Pegasus Tenma, Hades Alone and Athena Sasha must now face each other in a bitter destiny of war as friends and families are forced to face each other in a deadly battle to decide the fate of all mankind. It is later revealed that he is actually the son of Mephistoles Yoma of Japanese ancestry.

Alone is a young aspiring painter who just like Tenma grew up in the same orphanage back in the day. Sasha is the incarnation of the Godess Athena, the goddess of war, justice and heroic endeavor.

She grew up with Tenma and Alone back in Italy in an orphanage when they were kids. She is later reunited with Tenma who is now a Saint of Pegasus and Alone who is now their unrivaled enemy as the reincarnated King Hades. Anecdotes is still an ongoing series with 9 published volumes thus far.

Athena appears in the Dream World to save Sisyphus. Athena enters Sisyphus's dream, where she finds him feeling guilty for having separated Tenma and Alone. The seal of the four gods has been destroyed and Hypnos's Dream Seal is lifted. Now the forces of The Warriors are marching against Hades's castle. Hakurei enters Hades's castle on his own bearing a sword bathed in the previous Athena's blood.
